    Pigpen Radio presents Pigpen Social

Saturday 28th February 2015 1pm-1am at The Greenbank, Easton, Bristol

Pigpen Social is back! This free entry event will feature live music, creative commons cinema, sustainability networking and presentations, a free shop with books and vinyl, and more!

1pm-4pm ... Sustainability networking hosted by Net Impact Bristol.

Entry is free but tickets are required for this portion of the event only. Click here to book tickets and for further details.

There will be presentations and discussions on sustainable living, progressing toward a plastic free world, charity music festivals, community organising, cooperative media, social enterprises and creative commons. Speakers will be representing Greenlivvy.com, Bristol Festival Community Group, Acorn Bristol, The Bristol Cable, Net Impact and Pigpen Radio.

    4pm-8pm ... Pigpen Cinema

Free entry open to all, tickets are not required.

At 4pm we will be showing Steal This Film and at 6pm we will be showing RIP! A Remix Manifesto both of which explore the themes of intellectual property rights, copyright law and creative commons. Between and after we will be showing shorter films highlighting important local and global issues. Our recommendation is the films being screened are not suitable for young children due to the subject matter, however this is parents discretion.

8pm-1am ... A fantastic lineup of live music and DJs to round off the day in true Pigpen hoedown style!

Free entry open to all, tickets are not required.

Clayton Blizzard - An acoustic folk rapper, beguiling of lyric and intricate of instrumentation, mashing folk and hip hop like the long lost cousins they are. He has been described as a lyrical genius by several reviews, come and find out why.

HiHat Live - Multi talented one man sound system HiHat is a musical midwife and conductor to the infinite possibilities latent within his live looping rig, the Mothership of Funk, with a style crossing between soul, funk, dub and house. Spontaneity in his live sets come from the feeling in the room, creating a unique performance in connection with the people present.

P.O.D.G.E - Like funky music? Don’t like musical pigeon holes? Like your music to not take itself too seriously? If you answered yes to the above then the Provider of Damn Good Entertainment has got you covered. This Bristol based DJ and producer has performed at festivals including Glastonbury, Sunrise and Shambala, and has held residencies at Big Chill and Mr Wolf’s. His productions have support from Craig Charles, recently featured on his sound of 2015 show on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Please note that this event is not accessible for wheelchair users due to stairs being the only access to the upstairs room where our event is taking place. The ground floor bar is fully wheelchair accessible.

12pm ... The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard

Two years in the making, TPB AFK is a documentary about three computer addicts who revolutionized the world of media distribution with their hobby homepage. How did Tiamo, a beer crazy hardware fanatic, Brokep a tree hugging eco activist and Anakata, a paranoid cyber libertarian, get the White House to threaten the Swedish government with trade sanctions? TPB AFK explores what Hollywood's most hated pirates go through on a personal level.

    2pm ... Steal This Film

Waves of repression continue to come: lawsuits are still levied against innocent people; arrests are still made on flimsy pretexts, in order to terrify and confuse; harsh laws are still enacted against filesharing, taking their place in the gradual erosion of our privacy and the bolstering of the surveillance state. All of this is intended to destroy or delay inexorable changes in what it means to create and exchange our creations. Steal This Film's goal is bringing new people into the leagues of those now prepared to think after intellectual property, think creatively about the future of distribution, production and creativity.

    4pm ... Rip! A Remix Manifesto

Immerse yourself in the energetic, innovative and potentially illegal world of mash-up media with RiP A Remix Manifesto. Let web activist Brett Gaylor and musician Greg Gillis, better known as Girl Talk, serve as your digital tour guides on a probing investigation into how culture builds upon culture in the information age.

Please note there is no wheelchair access to the cinema room, however there is wheelchair access to the main pub.
